CUBE CASTING

The Strength value of each cube should be noted and compared with the targeted strength value. The reason for conducting the concrete test on 7 th day and attain the targeted 28 th day strength.

VICAT APPARATUS

Vicat apparatus is a penetration device used in testing of hydraulic cements and similar materials to determine their normal or standard consistency. It is also used to determine the initial setting time and final setting time of hydraulic cements and similar materials.

IMPACT VALUE TEST

Impact value test-The aggregate impact value is a determining measure of resistance to sudden impact or shock, which may differ from its resistance to gradually applied compressive load.

SLUMP TEST

The concrete slump test measures the consistency of fresh concrete before it sets. It is performed to check the workability of freshly made concrete, and therefore the ease with which concrete flows. It can also be used as an indicator of an improperly mixed batch. The test is popular due to the simplicity of apparatus used and simple procedure. The slump test is used to ensure uniformity for different loads of concrete under field conditions.

SILT CONTENT TEST

Silt Analysis is very important for testing the presence of silt in the sand. Fine material less than 150 microns is found in sand is called silt. Excessive amount of silt reduces the strenght of concrete.The high amount of silt in the sand can be harmful to the strength and durability of the concrete.
